Academy of Tri-axis Narrative Therapy (L-TNT)
Academy of Tri-axis Narrative Therapy programs are designed to provide students with solid, core counseling skills that enable them to achieve superlative results in assisting clients to live happier, more meaningful lives. These trainings are grounded in Tri-Axis Narrative Theory, social constructionist worldview, and post-structural and post-modern perspectives that are not likely to be taught in conventional academic settings. At the Academy, we provide students with a thorough, comprehensive, and hands-on training on effective ways to engage clients in transformational conversations to help them explore, remember, and shape new realities about their own power that problems rendered invisible to their eyes. These newly acknowledged realities can offer new meaning to clients’ lived experiences and inspire new opportunities for their future.
To facilitate their education, students will be provided with a safe, welcoming environment so they can review their assumptions and render visible some of their everyday taken-for-granted practices of life and relationships, in an attempt for them to become more aware of the effects of their thinking and acting, and to make it possible for them to take responsibility for the real effects of their future work on the lives of those who will seek their help.
Students will be provided with an understanding of philosophy, quantum physics, anthropology, history, linguistics, ethics, critical thinking, effective communication skills, deconstructive listening and deconstructive questioning based on Social Constructionist Perspective and Post-Modern, Post-Structural Theories such as Narrative and Feminism.
Students will learn to utilize influential collaborative approaches to help those seeking consultation to identify/establish and achieve their individual and relational goals.
The assessment tool utilized is a research-based Personal Agency Questionnaire (PAQ; Lundquist, 2012) that along with the Mental Fitness Questionnaire, was developed by the ODTFP Founder.
We believe in accessible and affordable education for everybody. Students will be offered a waiver on their Registration Fee if they commit to volunteer at ODTFP for the same number of hours as the training they receive at the Academy. All required books will also be available for students to borrow.Upon completion of their education, students may be offered paid positions at the Consultation Center and the Academy if they have established their trustworthiness and competence in delivering the services they have been trained on.We are accepting students to join our part-time classes on an ongoing basis! If you are interested in joining our Academy, you can submit your application at any time and set up a meeting time to come to our flagship office to learn more.
