How it started
During her time as a volunteer for the Red Cross and Red Crescent, our founder Dr. Simone Lundquist and her team were often tasked with delivering food and medical supplies to those affected by war. One night when making one of these trips, her entire team was killed by an IED explosion. That moment changed her life.
From that then on, Dr. Lundquist put everything she had into finding a way to create a sanctuary for healing warriors and their families. Her own way of supporting those who sacrifice and fight for our freedoms every single day. Dr. Lundquist’s mission became clear, helping our veterans be able to live again, laugh again, dream again, and love again by transforming how they approach trauma.
How it's going
Open Doors to Future Possibilities, Inc. was established in January of 2019 as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation and tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. (EIN 83-3226119) Since its founding, Dr. Lundquist and her team have been dedicated to providing life-changing, free-of-charge services to military veterans and their families in order to honor their service to our nation. We envision a world where all veterans and their families can thrive in the aftermath of trauma and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
